If you sleep well, you’ll experience four to five sleep cycles per night, which consists of light sleep, deep sleep and REM, where most dreams occur. REM recurs every 70-90 minutes. However, if you don’t get enough sleep, you will skip over the number and depth of the cycles. Without restorative sleep, you’ll lose the advantages of memory consolidation.
